Electrical Pole was on fire 12.47 Kv

My friend found a 12.47 Kv pole at work, smoldering. This is the usual rural distribution power voltage around New Brunswick, before it gets stepped down to 240 V coming into a house. These are the poles, that dot the highways of our province. A call was immediately placed to Transmission and Distribution team.

I went to check the pole a little later on. Part curiosity, part concern for what was going on outside. By the time I went out, which was 20 minutes later, 1/4 of the pole was burned off. And, flames were shooting out ever so often. These wooden poles are heavy duty, probably a foot and a half thick. They do not taper off in size, 30 or so feet at the top.

The transmission team arrived, and I escorted them to the burning pole. It was now, 3/4 burned off. Really incredible. It gives you a new respect, for the power of electricity. A loose connection at some pull out disconnects, was probably arcing across hitting the wood in the process. It generated enough heat, to burn the wood. 3 hours later, transmission reconnected the lines and things were back to normal again. They put a temporary brace with heavy rods and bolts, to support the side of the pole. A new pole will be on its way, maybe Monday.

As many of you already know, when you see power lines that are fallen, stay clear of them. Telephone your local utility, and let them handle the work. With high voltages, they can arc across air gaps. Air is not the best insulator, when distance disappears. Keep a good distance away from high voltage lines.

Briefly stating, stay in the car unless a threat of fire is present. You are insulated (tires) from the ground, and safe in the car. But, if there is a threat while in the car, jump out of the car with your two feet at the same time, and do not touch the car while you are in motion towards the ground. If you get out while touching the car, you can create a path for electricity to escape, through your body. Shuffle your feet until you are clear from the car (as to not create step potential).

Carbon tax. At first, the Canadian Federal Government, under the Liberals, unrolled a tax where 90 % of it was exposed to go back to the payers of the program.  Now, just that sentence alone. Think about it. 10 % going to schools, hospitals... I guess... And 90 % going back to the pocket that spent it... But, not your direct pocket. Not saying all of the provinces would have done it in the same way. At the first roll out, New Brunswick, the province in which I lived, just reduced the tax on gasoline to make up for the carbon tax increase. The feds said, no no, that is not right.. That is not what it is intended to be with this carbon tax.. So eventually, we may have gotten back one carbon tax check one year, and I truly forget. Borador- labrador collie mix

 Borador, we got this pup in the fall of 2022, and was a dog that looked more like a black labrador when he was a pup. We got him around 4 to 5 months old, and was a biter. He loved to bite. He loved to eat rocks. You could take him for walks, and, he would start picking up rocks and chewing on them. Some, he swallowed. For sure, we tried to give him a treat, to get the rock out of his mouth before he swallowed some of them. We had to learn also, to take him on trails where there was no little rocks for him to chew or swallow. He would, puke them up, at night and it made us worry about him very much. Then winter came, froze the ground for 4 months or so. Good thing, as he forgot about picking up rocks as the winter passed and 2023 summer is here. He now, likes chasing and fetching sticks.  He did do messes in the house the first 2 months we had him at the house. He eventually, learned to go outside to do his things. They say you are more famous when you are dead.. lol...

 Have to see, and say, the viewership on this blog, has nearly tripled since its start in 2012 approximately. I went through a dry spell from 2014 to 2016, then a spike in 2017, then 2020 a short blip of a month or so, and finally the last 6 months of 2022 to today, I have been getting viewership spikes in the 1000s, outpacing my first 2012 by 3 times as many viewers. And, I have not been producing any books during this time, even creating anything. It is mostly from the USA, then France, Eastern European countries, Russia, and a few from Asia views. True what they say,  you are more famous when you are dead when you are a creator, than alive. I feel dead right now. I have nothing on the board to create, no focus or means to get Part 5 done. There is no release of anything to any publisher at this point in time. Strange how marketing goes. You take the famous Budweiser, with Spuds Mckenzie long ago.
